The 6-month mark is a big milestone, as you can begin complementary feeding – solid food to your little ones’ diet. While your baby will still be getting most of their nutrition from milk, complementary feeding can help supplement their diet with essential nutrients needed at this growing stage.
COMPLEMENTARY FEEDING TO MEET NUTRITIONAL NEEDS
The American Academy of Paediatrics recommends supplements of 400 IU of vitamin D per day for infants under the age of 1, either in the form of a vitamin D-fortified formula or liquid vitamin D. A lack of vitamin D may cause rickets, the softening and weakening of bones in children. It is most likely to occur during periods when children’s bones are developing rapidly between the ages of 3 months to one year old. WHO recommends that infants start receiving complementary foods at 6 months of age.

TRANSITION
Formulas are specially formulated to be richer in iron and zinc, which can complement your baby’s diet at each milestone. When introducing a formula to your baby’s diet, it is recommended to make a gradual transition. Start with one formula feed a day for the first 3 days. You may wish to increase to 2 feeds a day from the 4th day onwards.
Made in Australia with the organic milk powder, NATURE ONE DAIRY® Organic Formula is certified by the Australian Certified Organic which is Australia’s largest certifier for organic and biodynamic produce. Babies will take any time between 7 to 13 days to adjust to a new formula, and you may notice differences in their stools, which may change consistency and color. This is perfectly normal as their digestive system is adapting to new nutrients present in the formula.
